The President of Republic of Finland, Mrs. Tarja Halonen has accepted the request to act as patron of the World Floorball Championship 2010. WFC2010 is the biggest sports event in Finland this year with 16 participating nations and after qualification tournaments played on five continents. 

Floorball is played nowadays in over 50 countries by two million enthusiasts. International Floorball Federation got IOC recognition in December 2008 and
Finnish Floorball Federation was chosen as member of the Finnish National Olympic Committee 2009.  Theme of the WFC2010, "The Magical Games" is communality.

The City of Helsinki will act as host for the delegations of national teams and participants of the IFF General Assembly on December 10th.
